Description

Again something from One Piece.

Pretty much from the first moment this character was revealed I knew that I had to do some sort of fanart for him. He's one of that certain kind of Oda's characters that immediately stand out in his otherwise kind of wacky work. Amidst his crewmates and siblings that range from some sort of cream-monster, to a skeleton like clown, a bunch of talking trees and a dozen other characters that look like they came straight out of Wonderland - we have this guy, who would fit right into the world of Berserk.

I currently enjoy him kicking Luffy around, for as long as it will last. He's easily my favorite character from Whole Cake Island and perhaps even from the whole time after the timeskip.

This was also really long in the making, what I take from this is that I'm horrible at faces ...

Edit: realized too late that the image was still mirrored, the tattoo is supposed to be on the left arm.

Katakuri's color palette was a respite for my eyes after the amalgam of vibrant pastels in the scenery and the fashion of Whole Cake Island.  I didn't even mind that he had dark pink hair, as despite being prepared to hate him as we had two similar characters in Zoro and Law already, he won me over with his strategic fighting style, admirable loyalty to his family, and his vulnerability.  It is impressive being a badass warrior, nigh untouchable with his Haki and brute strength alone (much like Luffy, but on a different level entirely), but the fact that Katakuri carves out one or two hours a day for himself, losing himself in personal contemplation (combined with foodgasmic abandon), proved he was human rather than just another archetypal "brave and brawny warrior".
